NRA First Steps Class

FIRST stands for Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training, a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. This FIRST Steps program is a basic courses abbreviated to the most fundamental shooting skills, and the specifics of a particular model of pistol.

What to expect to learn:

• This course is approximately 4 hours.

• Learn rules for safe gun handling.

• Introduction to basic pistol operation.

• Introduction to difference in calibers and ammunition.

• Introduction to shooting fundamentals such as breathing, sight picture and trigger control.

• Introduction to Pistol Cleaning, Storage, and Training Opportunities.

What do I need to bring:

• An open mind and a willingness to learn safe firearms handling.

• Classroom: your may bring your personal firearm only, prefably cased, unloaded and NO LIVE AMMUNITION in the training room.


• $70 Per person must have a minimum of two students. We will schedule this class to fit your needs.
